Yerevan's main square, featuring dancing fountains and grand government buildings in Soviet-era style. A great landmark and a lovely spot for an evening stroll.
Come at sunset when the fountains are beautifully lit up. Entry is free. For the best photos with Mount Ararat as a backdrop, head to the rooftop of a nearby hotel.
A monumental staircase complex leading up to a hilltop park. From the viewing platform at the top, you get a sweeping panorama of the city and a stunning view of Mount Ararat.
Free to climb. Go early (before 11:00 AM) or after 5:00 PM to avoid the midday heat. There's a contemporary art museum inside (paid entry).
The world's largest repository of ancient Armenian manuscripts and books. It safeguards rare texts written on parchment and illuminated with vivid miniature paintings.
Open 10:00 AM–4:00 PM. Entrance: around 3,000 AMD (~€7). English-language guided tours are available for an additional fee. Photography is not permitted inside.
